Chronic pain is frustrating and debilitating. For many clients, MRIs, CT scans and X-Rays offer no explanation. As a result of the pain,  movement and activity can be limited and this often gives way to depression. Many people describe it as a vicious circle.

Fibromyalgia is a condition vaguely defined by symptoms such as hypersensitivity and tenderness, pain, fatigue and emotional distress. Myofascial Pain Syndrome is another chronic pain disorder characterized by specific pressure or sensitive points, that refer to seemingly unrelated areas of the body.

How can we help?

All of these conditions tend to fall under the umbrella of poorly understood and unexplained chronic pain conditions.

At the Centre we combine a variety of techniques, predominantly trigger point therapy and myofascial release therapy. This addresses both muscular and fascial pain – by unwinding bounded up connective tissue that operates almost as a galactic web around our bodies and thus  releasing muscles and helping restore their ability to function.
A majority of chronic pain clients have noted a marked decrease in pain, an increase in their ability to do activity and improvement in their overall wellbeing.

Most importantly, what we do, is listen to you, and ensure you receive a comprehensive and holistic treatment, there may be some emotional stress that is contributing to your structural problem and you may need nutritional advice and supplemenation. We provide all of these services at North Avoca Holistic Wellbeing Centre, so that we will not only help you alleviate the symptoms, but work towards addressing the cause, to find what is stopping your body from healing.
